Information: A Texas native, I now call Alaska "home." Enlisted in
the Air Force at 18 (medic, orthopedic surgical tech, and Military
Training instructor.) Commissioned 1985, retired as Captain in 1995.
Earned B.A. - Sociology from the University of Texas 1984, Masters of
International Relations from Troy State University in 1989, and a B.
Ed.- Secondary Education from the University of Alaska in 1997,
Administrative (Type B) Certification, UAA 2004. I love teaching, and
have been with the Anchorage School District for the past 14 yrs.

Information: Entered Air Force in 1984. Retired June 2004. Earned BA
in English Language & Literature at Valdosta State College, GA.
Earned CA Preliminary Credentials-Project Impact. Completed CA BSTA
Induction for CLEAR credentials. 2008: Moved to AK and completed AK
credentials. 2008-09: taught at North Pole HS. 2009-10: taught at Benny
Benson Secondary School in Anchorage AK. It is a school that handles
troubled teens and is their 'last chance' for graduation before dropping
out. The team of civilians that work there are just as amazing as the
military was. The programs they enforce and the way they reach these
kids is just wonderful! (Some are retired military.) If anyone in TTT
is planning to visit AK, please visit this school. It is 8 min. from
Elmendorf AFB and Ft. Richardson. The work being done at this school is
very important. The parents are astonished that everything is working
and they are forever grateful. If you are interested in helping kids
and/or teaching in AK, please let me know. 2010-11: Moved and now

Information: Active duty Air Force for 10 yrs, switched to Reserves to
start a family. Currently stationed out of Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. I
have two children, 3 and 6 yrs old. I have a BA from the University of
Alaska Anchorage in Criminal Justice, minor in History. I have an MS
degree from La Vern University of California in Organizational
Management. I am currently enrolled in the Elementary Education
certification program with Rio Salado Teaching Program with a completion
date of 2011. In the fall of 2008, I began substitute teaching in the

Currently a Beginning Teacher Support Provider(BTSA), Teacher Leader in the California Reading and Literature Project (CRLP), and now have my Professional Teaching Credential.
